Enter the clinic, and you will see a wall of art pieces and notes drawn or written by the many young patients treated in the clinic. These bear testimony to the happy children whom Dr Stanley has seen over the years, and have relieved of their nasal and other ENT problems.

Children form a major component of our patients' base. On their first visit, Dr Stanley and his staff, all of whom are experienced in dealing with young patients, quickly put them at ease. Through gentle cajoling, a thorough examination is performed. In addition to a nose and ear examination, Dr Stanley also performs a flexible video-nasoendoscopy on children four years and older. This diagnostic endoscopic procedure has also been performed on children as young as three years of age, if they are co-operative.

To accurately diagnose sinusitis, adenoidal hypertrophy and suspected foreign bodies in the nose, a video nasoendoscopic examination is essential.

We are also now seeing a rising prevalence of allergy-related diseases in children. To investigate nasal allergies, Skin Prick Test (SPT) can easily and painlessly be performed. A blood test for the measurement of lgE bodies to specific allergens is an alternative.

Food allergy tests are also available when indicated.

'Glue' ears are commonly encountered in children and this can be dealt with in the clinic if the child is cooperative.
